Leaving Home…Again

In 6 days I’ll be heading back to Coventry for my third (and final…hurray!) term of my first year at uni. It’s a short term…I’ll be home around the end of May again, and will be faced with a four month summer holiday (in which I hope to shoot my short film Once Bitten, Twice Shy…so fingers crossed I’ll have the finances by then!)

It’s weird, all this going backwards and forwards between two homes…sometimes when I refer to Coventry the term ‘home’ slips out and I correct myself…but actually, even after just seven months it does feel like a second home. A three week holiday is enough time to settle back in to being at home, and it feels like I’ve never left, so going back to Coventry

does kind of feel like leaving all over again…except this time it’s easy.

I hate coming back to untidiness, so my room in Coventry is clean and tidy and I thought it was time I tackled the floordrobe that had appeared at the end of my bed and get this room tidy as well, so that’s what I’ve spent my morning doing.

I’m trying to be productive despite not being well all round…it turns out I have glandular fever and have probably had it on and off for a long time. It comes and goes, and although I’ve got my energy back it feels like I’ve swallowed a razor blade or two and been punched in the neck by Melissa McCarthy…

I got woken up at 7am this morning after having a rough nights sleep, and when I couldn’t get back to sleep I thought I might as

well do something constructive today. I left my room to go for a shower and the dog crept around the corner and scared the life out of me! It’s just me and the dog today, everyone else has things to do…so I’ll probably spend most of the day mingling around on my blog or posting stupid animal pictures on Facebook! I might even watch a film. I have to do my dog walking duty, so I hope it’s not cold out again today! I took him out last night and he nearly pulled my arm off when he spotted a squashed sausage roll in the road…he proceeded to try and peel it off the road as we walked past. I swear that dog could find a pizza in the dessert..he manages to find food everywhere we go.

  1. It’s very disorienting when you have to keep changing your bases. Glandular fever. (I was going to put an exclamation point at the end, but thought it would look a bit foreboding) That’s a bummer. Do they have things to combat that?

      1. I think there is some sort of herbal thing…echinacea my daughter took that years ago when it was suspected that she had it…it’s one of the many herbal things suggested for it. πŸ™‚
